The B2.SM.000-4400 is a synchronous servo motor from the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series manufactured by KEB. As a compact rotary actuator, this motor converts controlled electrical energy into precise shaft motion for positioning, conveying, or metering tasks inside automated machines and robotic stations. Its electrical design targets drive systems that run on standardized bus voltages and require rapid torque development without an integrated gearbox.
Under continuous operation, the motor's key reference point is its rated operating point. The shaft turns at 4000 rpm while delivering 1.3 Nm and drawing a phase current of 1.4 A, which results in 540 W of output power. A 400 V line-to-line supply supports this duty and is matched to a phase resistance of 17.3 Ω, which affects copper losses and drive sizing. When motion starts from rest, electromagnetic coupling produces a stall torque of 1.5 Nm that can be held indefinitely at a winding current of 1.6 A. The laminated rotor carries 0.36 kg cm² of inertia so acceleration remains responsive without overloading light transmission elements. With 48.8 mH of winding inductance and a back-EMF constant of 80.9 V per 1000 rpm, the motor filters current ripple and provides predictable voltage feedback to vector drives during high-bandwidth control loops.

Once the load is removed, the rotor accelerates to a no-load speed of 5750 rpm, providing margin for overspeed recovery and field-weakening operation. Its 2.1 kg mass keeps the static load low on slide axes during high-cycle positioning.
