Internal Product Review
The B2.SM.000-6200 is a KEB synchronous-servo motor with self-cooling that supports efficient thermal performance in continuous duty applications. The 2-pole resolver encoder provides dependable feedback, and the 6000 rpm rating gives the motor strong dynamic capability for precise motion control. IP54 protection and 2.37 Nm stall torque make the motor a very capable choice for demanding servo applications.

Product Description:
The B2.SM.000-6200 servo motor is built by KEB within the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It belongs to the B2 frame class and uses a permanent-magnet rotor to generate responsive torque for positioning axes, filling stations, and light material-handling equipment. When paired with an electronic drive, the motor translates digitally commanded current patterns into synchronized rotation, allowing machines to use direct, closed-loop motion instead of mechanical speed reducers in suitable applications.
It delivers a maximum speed of 6000 rpm, giving motion controllers sufficient range for rapid indexing before field weakening occurs. Continuous stall torque is rated at 2.37 Nm; this value indicates the steady torque that the stator can maintain without exceeding its thermal limits and helps determine the allowable load at low speed. The three-phase winding has a nominal voltage of 190 V for use with compatible 230 V inverter systems or 320 V DC links. The enclosure has an IP54 rating, which limits dust ingress and protects the motor against splashing water. This protection allows the motor to be installed in ventilated cabinets or directly on suitable machinery. Heat is removed through a self-cooling aluminum housing, eliminating the need for an external blower and reducing the number of auxiliary components required around the motor.
Power and feedback conductors enter through a rotatable terminal box, allowing the cables to be routed for the available installation space. A mass of 2.4 kg limits the weight added to the machine assembly, while the SSBH-15-E-5 resolver reports rotor position during each electrical cycle to support closed-loop control. The front face carries a B5 IFT5-compatible flange, allowing the motor to be bolted to matching gearheads or machine frames. The shaft is supplied with a feather key for positive torque transmission through a keyed coupling or hub. Because the unit is supplied without a holding brake, drive torque or an external clamp must hold the load in position after motor power is removed.
