Product Description:
The 42.SM.200-44BJ is a synchronous servo motor built by KEB for the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The unit provides precise velocity and position control for automated axes, allowing machinery to execute repeatable moves with minimal mechanical play. It converts electrical commands from a compatible drive into regulated shaft rotation for packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar motion applications. Closed-loop operation allows the drive to correct changes in speed or position as the connected load varies. The motor is intended for industrial systems that require controlled acceleration, accurate stopping, and consistent movement during repeated production cycles.
A nominal shaft speed of 4000 rpm can be maintained when the motor is supplied at its rated voltage of 330 V. Heat generated during operation is removed through self-cooling, so the motor does not require an external blower under normal operating conditions. The bearing sets have a rated service life of 20,000 hours, supporting extended operation before bearing maintenance becomes necessary. Continuous duty is permitted at installation altitudes of 1,000 m or less; operation above this limit requires derating because thinner air reduces cooling performance. The long stator design provides additional active magnetic length for producing torque within the motor housing. An M5 × 14 center-tapped hole in the shaft nose provides a secure attachment point for suitable couplings or puller tools.
The square mounting face measures 102 × 102 mm and uses a B5 IFT5-compatible flange for installation on a gearbox or machine plate. A pilot seat measuring 115 mm centers the motor housing on the mating surface and helps maintain shaft alignment. Four threaded mounting holes are positioned on a 134 mm bolt circle to secure the flange. Power is transmitted through a shaft with a diameter of 19 mm, providing a compact mechanical output interface for the connected load. The shaft extends 32 mm from the mounting face, giving a clamping hub sufficient engagement length. A 6 mm keyway provides positive torque transfer and prevents the coupling from rotating independently on the shaft.
