The 14.SM.001-3400 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by KEB for the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In an automated line, it interfaces with a matching inverter to create finely regulated rotary motion, allowing accurate positioning and speed regulation on packaging stations, gantry axes, and small machining spindles. The motor’s permanent-magnet design supplies rapid torque response, giving machine builders an electrical alternative to pneumatic cylinders where tighter accuracy and dynamic performance are required.
During continuous duty, the unit outputs 3.5 kW of mechanical power while operating from a three-phase supply of 400 V. At its rated speed of 3000 rpm, the shaft can sustain a steady load of 11 Nm and draws a phase current of 5.8 A. These rated figures describe the constant operating point that the drive must support for thermal balance. A 2-pole resolver mounted on the rotor supplies angle feedback so the controller can close the velocity and position loops without external feedback devices. Stator windings exhibit an inductance of 8.2 mH and a resistance of 2 Ω, values that influence the current slew rate and copper losses inside the motor.
