The 04.SM.000-4400 synchronous servo motor is produced by KEB within the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for integration with KEB drive controllers, the unit converts commanded current into tightly regulated shaft rotation, making it suitable for positioning tables, pick-and-place axes, and other automated stations in manufacturing lines. It supports precise motion cycles in packaging, printing, and electronics assembly cells where repeatability is essential. In servo applications, this type of motor is used where rapid response and consistent speed regulation are required over repeated operating cycles.
At its rated operating point, the motor turns at 4000 rpm, delivering 3.6 kW of mechanical power and 8.6 Nm of continuous torque. At this operating point, it draws a rated current of 8.6 A and produces a back EMF of 89.2 V/1000 rpm, which the drive uses for speed estimation and field-oriented control. The stator winding has an inductance of 3.6 mH and a resistance of 0.76 Ω, and these electrical values affect current rise time and steady-state copper losses during operation.
