Product Description:
The 04.SM.000-340F is a synchronous servo motor produced by KEB and supplied within the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as a rotary actuator in closed-loop automation, converting controlled current from a matched servo inverter into accurate shaft rotation for packaging equipment, material-handling stations, or general positioning axes. The unit follows IEC B5 flange conventions, so it can attach directly to gearheads or machine frames without custom adapters.
The motor develops its rated output at 3000 rpm, a speed obtained when the windings are excited at the synchronous frequency of 150 Hz from a three-phase supply. At that operating point, the stator draws 3.2 A and produces a continuous torque of 4.1 Nm, while the required line potential is 330 V. A feather-key shaft transfers this torque to couplings or pulleys and helps prevent slip under cyclic loads. The angular flange connector routes power and feedback cables away from the housing, reducing bend stress in dynamic cable chains. A Heidenhain ERN 1387 incremental encoder is mounted on the non-drive end, giving digital position data to the drive so that velocity and torque loops can be closed with high gain.
For start-up and hold conditions, the electromagnetic structure can resist a stall load of 4.8 Nm without loss of synchronization. Thermal energy is removed through the aluminum frame by means of self-cooling, so no external fan or liquid jacket is required. The encoder offers 2048 Inc/Rev resolution, so the drive receives 8192 quadrature counts per mechanical turn after interpolation, allowing precise indexing. Environmental sealing to IP65 blocks dust and low-pressure water jets, enabling installation on open machine surfaces where coolant splash or airborne particulates are present.
