Product Description:
The 01.SM.001-320R is a synchronous servo motor produced by KEB for integration into the SM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This low-inertia unit supplies finely regulated rotary motion for positioning tables, pick-and-place axes, and other industrial automation tasks where repeatable torque delivery and feedback accuracy are required. By combining permanent-magnet excitation with stator windings optimized for rapid current changes, the motor converts drive output into precise shaft rotation without mechanical transmission slack. Its responsive electromagnetic design supports applications that require frequent acceleration, deceleration, and accurate positioning throughout repeated operating cycles.
Connection to machine wiring is handled through a terminal box positioned on the stator housing, allowing ring-lug terminations and strain-relief glands in confined panels. Heat is removed through the frame surface because the motor uses self-cooling, so no external fan supply is necessary. The motor uses a B5 IFT5-compatible flange, allowing direct attachment to IEC gearheads that share the same pilot diameter. The rated phase voltage is 190 V for 230 V class inverters, and the winding is prepared for a nominal DC bus of 320 V, matching the link voltage generated by standard rectifier modules. The enclosure has an IP54 rating, which limits dust ingress and protects internal laminations from water splashes encountered on factory floors. These connection, cooling, and mounting features allow the motor to fit compact machine layouts without requiring a separate cooling assembly.
Mechanical holding force is provided by a factory-installed holding brake that clamps the rotor whenever control power is removed, keeping suspended or vertical loads from drifting. During motion, the rotor can reach 3000 rpm, a speed that pairs with miniature ball screws or timing belts for high cycle rates. At standstill, the electromagnetic stack supplies 0.2 Nm of continuous stall torque, allowing servo regulators to maintain position without overheating. The frame weighs only 0.62 kg, which reduces the moving mass on lightweight gantry axes. Its shaft is machined with a feather key to provide positive torque transfer to a coupling, pulley, or gearbox input. Size code 01 keeps the overall dimensions compact for installations where available space is restricted.
