Product Description:
The 13.S6.K14-1100 is a compact AC servo inverter produced by KEB within the S6 Combivert Servo Drives series. Designed for three-phase 400 V networks, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output that governs the torque, speed, and position of automation motors rated up to 5.5 kW. It is used in assembly gantries, packaging axes, and general motion systems where space, coordinated control, and integrated safety are important.
The drive is equipped with an EtherCAT interface, so cyclic setpoints and feedback travel across the fieldbus with microsecond timing. Its DC-link and output stages are designed for a nominal supply of 400 V AC, under which it delivers a continuous motor phase current of 12.0 A. This current corresponds to an apparent power capacity of 8.3 kVA, allowing the device to cover the full torque range of the supported motor size. Gate control is optimized for a carrier frequency of 4 kHz, which balances switching losses and motor noise. At this setting, internal power dissipation is 185 W and must be managed through panel ventilation. The inverter senses the brake resistor and rejects resistance values below the minimum threshold of 25 Ω to protect its 34 A braking channel.
The housing is 220 mm deep, 90 mm wide, and 310 mm high, allowing multiple axes to be installed side by side without exceeding common cabinet depths. When faster current modulation is needed for high-dynamic servo motors, the control board supports a maximum switching frequency of 16 kHz. Selecting this mode increases the PWM frequency but also raises the thermal load. Input-side protection must accommodate a continuous current draw of 17 A. The integrated functional safety circuit provides STO, which removes torque-producing power in less than one millisecond. Forced convection removes operating heat from the inverter during sustained operation.
