Product Description:
The 12.S6.A34-1100 is a servo inverter produced by KEB within the S6 Combivert Servo Drives series. It supplies modulated three-phase output to synchronous or induction motors so that machine builders can regulate speed, torque, and position from a control system without mechanical throttling. The drive also provides an internal brake chopper and high-frequency filtering to support dynamic stops and minimize conducted emissions inside electrical enclosures.
The input section is rated for 13 A at the service mains, and the power stage delivers a continuous output current of 9.5 A to the motor terminals. Under nominal conditions, this corresponds to 6.6 kVA of apparent power, matching motors around 4 kW. Pulse-width modulation can be increased to a maximum carrier frequency of 16 kHz, which reduces motor noise at the cost of higher switching losses; factory settings limit operation to 4 kHz for normal duty. A dedicated brake control output supplies 24 V / 2 A, giving the connected holding brake a separate, protected feed so it can engage immediately after a power loss or fault.
The control bandwidth begins rolling off at 6 Hz, which is the lowest frequency at which current regulation maintains full loop gain during slow-speed positioning. The compact housing measures 90 mm wide and mounts directly on a DIN rail or panel standoffs. Thermal losses are limited to 155 W during rated output, and idle consumption drops to 8 W when the inverter is in standby, easing cabinet cooling requirements. Additional safeguards include a minimum brake resistor value of 33 Ω, a peak brake current of 28 A, and a 15 A gG line fuse. The inverter also has an integrated HF filter and operates from a three-phase mains supply to distribute the input load evenly.
