Product Description:
The industrial controller X2.S4.D4E-6E11 is manufactured by KEB and belongs to the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. Supplied as a replacement module in housing design D, it is intended to regulate torque, speed, and position for servo-driven axes in automated machinery. By interpreting field-level input signals and controlling the power electronics ahead of the motor, the unit forms the command layer between the machine PLC and the inverter stage for closed-loop motion in assembly, packaging, and material-handling cells. This role lets the controller coordinate machine commands with motor response during synchronized motion tasks.
This model includes 2 analog inputs for ±10 V or 0 to 20 mA process variables used as speed or torque references. It also has 7 digital inputs for limit switches, start-enable signals, or mode-selection functions. A 10 V reference voltage is available at the control terminal block for potentiometer speed setting and sensor supply. The controller is intended for a 400 V class supply, and its logic circuitry is isolated on a 24 V digital supply to help maintain control integrity during mains disturbances. Feedback is processed through a 15-pin Sub-D encoder input, and an adjacent 9-pin Sub-D interface can simulate encoder signals for downstream devices such as master drives or external counters. Two analog outputs and two digital outputs are also provided, giving the unit a broad interface set for command, feedback, and status wiring inside the cabinet.
The velocity loop can track motors up to a 6000 rpm rated speed, giving suitable headroom for high-speed spindles or pick-and-place heads. Environmental limits permit operation in ambient air up to 55 °C and at 95% relative humidity when condensation is prevented. The open-style IP20 protection rating requires installation inside a closed electrical enclosure. This arrangement suits panel-based systems where the controller is protected by the cabinet while remaining accessible for control and feedback connections.
