KEB manufactures the D2.S4.E2E-5000 for its S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. The Combivert Servo Controller regulates the torque, speed, and position of AC servomotors in automated machinery. It receives command signals from higher-level PLCs, processes them, and supplies controlled three-phase power to the connected motor. Closed-loop feedback allows the controller to correct motion as operating conditions and mechanical loads change.
The controller samples analog references with 12-bit precision, providing 4,096 distinct input levels for fine speed or torque commands. Its feedback channel returns process values through a 10-bit analog output, which is suitable for supervisory displays or cascade control loops. Optically isolated digital status outputs can sink up to 20 mA, allowing connection to compatible relays or indicator LEDs. A dedicated reference current of 4 mA supports current-mode setpoints, while a bipolar reference voltage of +10 V is available for conventional voltage control. The internal relay is rated for 30 VDC and 1 A, allowing it to indicate faults or control the dynamic enable input of an external contactor. These signal interfaces support communication between the servo controller, motor feedback devices, and the surrounding machine control system.
The E-design housing measures 130 mm wide, 275 mm high, and 200 mm deep, and it attaches to a back panel through 7 mm mounting holes. The controller has an ingress protection rating of IP20, which protects against contact with hazardous internal parts and entry by solid objects larger than the applicable limit. Cabinet airflow must remain unobstructed because the enclosure is not sealed against dust or water. Continuous operation is permitted from -10 °C to 45 °C at relative humidity levels up to 95 percent, provided condensation is prevented. The controller can operate at altitudes up to 2000 m without derating. Its power section accepts a nominal line voltage of 200 V, matching low-voltage industrial power networks used with compatible S4 mounting frames.
