Product Description:
The 33.S4.D2B-3012 is produced by KEB within the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series and serves as a closed-loop drive unit for brushless motors in automated machinery. By processing feedback from a resolver or IG-IO interface and modulating output phases, the controller governs torque, velocity, and position loops for axes used in packaging lines, handling gantries, and similar systems. It accepts external control power, reports status through digital outputs, and fits cabinets that use the space-saving D housing profile common in modern motion platforms.
An analog command channel with 12-bit resolution captures velocity or torque references, while the return channel transmits process variables with 10-bit granularity so upstream PLCs can verify loop performance. Each digital output can source up to 20 mA, which is enough to drive optical isolators or indicator LEDs. The internal reference source provides +10 V, and a reference current of 4 mA is available when a current loop is preferred. The drive matches motors rated for a nominal shaft speed of 3000 rpm. Its analog output stage presents 100 Ω impedance to reduce loading errors in receiving modules, and up to 1 A of auxiliary supply can be drawn for encoders or small relays.
An enclosure rated IP20 protects live parts from finger contact and allows installation in clean, ventilated racks up to 2000 m above sea level. The mains section belongs to the 200 V class, which pairs with typical 230 V three-phase networks without step-down transformers. Heat is removed through a self-ventilated airflow path so the unit can operate in climatic category 3K3 environments where cabinet temperatures stay below 40 °C. The resolver or IG-IO feedback channel supports rotor position monitoring during operation, while a 60 mA voltage-mode output supplies transducers that require an energized reference.
