Product Description:
The 22.S4.RN0-4U10 belongs to the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series produced by KEB. Classified as a Combivert servo controller, it regulates torque and speed for compatible synchronous or asynchronous motors in automated production lines, packaging machines, and material-handling axes. By converting line power into precisely timed phase currents, the unit closes the control loop between the drive and motor while supporting high-resolution position feedback through resolver or SSI channels.
A continuous output current of 115 A matches the stall current of the intended motor, while overload demands are supported by a peak current of 172.5 A. This peak current can be delivered for 1000 ms before automatic current limiting engages. The rectifier draws up to 127 A from the line, so the installation requires a supply cable with a cross-sectional area of 50 mm² and protection from a 160 A line fuse. The controller supports a rated motor speed of 4,000 rpm and accepts resolver or SSI feedback for precise commutation. The connected motor shaft has a feather key and does not include a brake, which reduces inertia during cyclic operation. Supply wiring, motor compatibility, and protective devices must be selected to accommodate the controller’s current requirements.
The controller has an overall height of 495 mm, a width of 340 mm, and a depth of 355 mm within the R housing class for unit size 22. The power stage produces 1500 W of heat dissipation, so the cabinet must provide adequate ventilation to keep the controller within its operating temperature range. The IP20 enclosure protects against accidental contact with internal components but requires installation in a clean, closed control panel. Built-in EMI suppression helps limit conducted electrical noise on connected power circuits. Motor cables may be routed up to 100 m without exceeding the controller’s voltage-rise limits. All conductive parts connect to a common protective ground through the same terminal strip, providing a direct grounding path for the controller and connected equipment.
