Product Description:
The 10.S4.R11-M400 is designated by KEB as a Combivert Servo Controller within the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. Intended for precision positioning and speed regulation of synchronous or asynchronous servomotors in automated lines, it accommodates machines that require shafts equipped with a brake and feather key for positive torque transfer. The controller operates from a three-phase supply and coordinates motor current, voltage, and feedback to close motion loops in packaging, material-handling, and assembly cells.
Internally, the power section receives bus energy from a 400 V DC subassembly, drawing a steady input current of 7 A during nominal operation. Under continuous load, the unit delivers a rated output current of 6.4 A, while momentary acceleration demands can be met with a peak current of 22 A. This peak current is permitted for 200 ms before the drive returns to its thermal limits. Heat generated by the switching devices is extracted through the heat sink and accounts for 110 W of power dissipation. The stall current equals the rated value, so prolonged shaft locking will not overstress the output stage when the applicable duty-cycle limits are observed.
The controller has an enclosure protection rating of IP20, so it must be mounted inside a clean control panel with adequate airflow. Operating conditions permit relative humidity up to 95% without condensation and ambient temperatures from -10 °C to +45 °C; operation beyond this temperature range requires derating or additional cooling. For long-term storage, the unit can withstand temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C without performance loss. Field wiring requires a minimum conductor size of 1.5 mm², providing sufficient capacity for the controller’s supply connections. The upstream feeder must be protected by a mains fuse rated at no more than 10 A.
