The 10.S4.D30-4102 is a servo controller manufactured by KEB as part of the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. In industrial automation cells, it links the plant’s three-phase network to a dedicated motor, providing closed-loop regulation of speed, torque, and position for precise machine motion. By combining power electronics with digital control, the unit supports connected axes throughout their rated mechanical speed range and integrates with higher-level PLCs through the Combivert parameter interface.
The controller connects to a three-phase supply and draws an input current of 7 A during steady operation. Its power stage delivers a continuous motor phase current of 6.4 A, which is sufficient to sustain the 4000 rpm mechanical speed used by many servo axes in the Combivert program. For dynamic moves, it can provide a peak current of 22 A / 200 ms so that short acceleration bursts do not require an oversized drive. Semiconductor switching losses and auxiliary electronics produce 110 W of heat that must be removed by the panel ventilation system to maintain temperature within component limits.
For installation, the drive uses forced ventilation, and the integrated fan draws cabinet air across the heat sink, so unobstructed inlet paths are essential. Wiring runs between the controller and motor may extend up to 50 m while still meeting EMC and voltage-drop criteria, provided each power conductor is at least 1.5 mm². At the supply side, a maximum mains fuse of 10 A coordinates with the drive’s semiconductor protection. The electronics are rated for operation up to 2000 m above sea level and at a relative humidity of up to 95% without condensation. The housing carries a protection class of IP20, so the unit should be mounted inside a switchgear cabinet when dust or moisture exposure is possible.
