Product Description:
The 05.S4.D30-1280 is a servo drive manufactured by KEB for the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. As a Combivert servo controller, it modulates voltage and current to manage synchronous or induction motors used in positioning, printing, and material-handling equipment. By adjusting torque and speed in real time, the unit forms a closed-loop interface between a motion controller and the motor shaft, removing the need for mechanical throttling devices in automated machinery.
The power section accepts a three-phase line connection at 200 V, and an integrated EMI network attenuates conducted interference on all phases. A single-phase supply draws up to 12.8 A, while a balanced three-phase source limits the input current to 7 A; these values assist with circuit breaker sizing and cable selection. Internally, the inverter can deliver a continuous output current of 6.4 A to the motor windings, with overload capacity up to 16 A for rapid acceleration or sudden load changes. A thermal algorithm limits this peak-current period to 500 ms before returning the controller to its rated current, protecting the IGBTs and bus capacitors from excessive heat. The controller supports machines operating at a nominal motor speed of 1500 rpm, making it compatible with common four-pole motors without requiring additional gearing.
The enclosure uses housing design D and measures 90 × 265 × 210 mm. Its mass of 2.5 kg allows installation in densely populated control panels without reinforced mounting rails. The IP20 finger-safe shielding protects against accidental contact with internal components, while the permitted operating temperature ranges from -10 °C to 45 °C. A line conductor cross section of 1.5 mm² supports the electrical connection, and forced-convection airflow removes heat during operation. The motor configuration is supplied without a brake and uses a shaft with a feather key for direct coupling to compatible gearheads. When powered down, the controller may be stored at temperatures up to 70 °C.
