Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 05.S4.050-0009 as part of the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. The device is a compact Combivert Servo Controller that translates control signals from a PLC into precisely timed voltage pulses for a connected motor. It is configured for motors supplied without a holding brake and equipped with a feather key, allowing direct coupling to gearboxes or load shafts. In automated lines, the unit provides closed-loop regulation of speed and torque, enabling accurate positioning, energy optimization, and coordinated multi-axis motion.
The power stage is designed for the 230 V AC supply class and can be connected through a single-phase or three-phase mains feed. Under continuous duty, the controller delivers a rated output current of 6.4 A, matching medium-frame servo motors used in material-handling and packaging equipment. For rapid acceleration, it can supply a maximum output current of 16 A for up to 500 ms, giving the axis extra torque during indexing or sudden load changes. The IP20 enclosure blocks finger contact with live parts but requires installation inside a control cabinet. An upstream 16 A fuse provides appropriate circuit protection for the controller and its connected supply wiring.
The housing is 90 mm wide, 165 mm deep, and 250 mm high, providing compact dimensions for back-panel installation. The unit weighs only 2.0 kg, so the cabinet mounting surface does not require additional structural support. Its 1/3 line-phase configuration accommodates either single-phase or three-phase power sources, making the controller suitable for different plant power systems. Rotor position data enter through a 12-bit resolver interface, providing sufficient resolution for precise velocity and position loops during coordinated axis movements. The compact enclosure also leaves room for adjacent control equipment while maintaining access to the supply terminals and feedback connections.
