The 04.S4.D4E-3011 is a servo controller produced by KEB for the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. It regulates three-phase AC motors in automated machinery by modulating electrical power to control motor torque and speed. During operation, the controller processes position feedback and adjusts its output to correct deviations from the commanded motion profile. It also exchanges enable, status, and fault signals with the surrounding machine control system.
The controller operates from a three-phase supply of 400 V, which is rectified and pulse-width modulated to create a variable-frequency output for the connected motor. Operation requires an ambient temperature range of -10 to +45 °C, so the enclosure must provide enough airflow to keep the electronics within this range. Installation is permitted at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level. At higher elevations, reduced air density can lower cooling performance and require output derating. The controller has an IP20 protection rating, which guards against contact with internal electrical parts but requires installation in a closed panel for protection from dust and moisture.
