Product Description:
The 03.S4.D20-3001 is an integrated servo controller produced by KEB as a member of the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series. By combining drive electronics and a permanent-magnet servo motor in one housing, it delivers programmable motion for automated conveyors, packaging axes, and small handling devices. The device translates command words from higher-level control systems into precise shaft movement, using internal feedback loops to maintain velocity and position within the tight tolerances needed in industrial automation. This combined layout also helps reduce the space required for axis installation when compared with separate motor and drive components.
At the mechanical output, the unit delivers a basic torque of 2.3 Nm, which supports continuous rotation loads that match its thermal design. Nominal power is rated at 0.72 kW, so the drive can sustain moderate work cycles during regular operation. A rated speed of 3000 rpm works with that power level to suit common servo gear ratios and direct-drive tasks. The controller section is housed in an IP20 enclosure, which is intended for installation inside a protective cabinet, while the motor side carries its own IP65 protection. Position data for the control loop are generated through resolver feedback, and an internal incremental encoder simulator provides up to 1024 inc/rev to downstream devices. The hardware accepts either single-phase or three-phase line power, and it can tolerate an axial bearing load of 310 N during operation.
When high load steps occur, the shaft can withstand a stall torque of 2.8 Nm without losing synchronization. Dynamic response is supported by a rotor inertia of 5.3 kg·cm², which is low enough for quick acceleration while still helping smooth minor torque disturbances. Radial bearing forces up to 400 N are allowed, and the shaft gland is sealed to IP64 to help block dust and spray from the bearing cavity. The electronics belong to the 200 V Class supply group, so the input side must be matched with suitable circuit protection and cabling. With a weight of 4.2 kg, the assembly can also be mounted on moving carriages or end effectors without adding excessive mass.
