Product Description:
The 02.S4.D2A-3001 belongs to the S4 Combivert Servo Controllers series manufactured by KEB. The device drives servo axes in packaging lines, material-handling stations, and other automated machinery. It processes position references, stores up to eight target points in nonvolatile memory, and supports resolver feedback or incremental encoder simulation through its dedicated subassembly. By translating digital motion commands into precisely modulated motor currents, the unit maintains the commanded speed and position as operating loads change.
The power section is designed for operation from a 200 V mains supply, so its component clearances and switching devices are suited to that voltage class. The controller supports a rated motor shaft speed of 3000 rpm, which is the top closed-loop operating point at the nominal motor frequency. Position feedback has a resolution of 65,536 increments per revolution, enabling fine interpolation of resolver signals. The absolute travel window extends to 4,294,967,295 increments before the position count rolls over. An overtemperature monitor raises a hardware fault when the heat sink reaches 70 °C, allowing the application to remove the load or increase airflow. The +5 V encoder supply works with the resolver simulation board to support accurate point-to-point movement.
The mechanical frame uses housing design D and remains within the space envelope for Unit Size 02. Thermal losses are removed through a self-ventilated airflow path, eliminating the need for an external fan while supporting the 3K3 climatic category. Protection to IP20 helps prevent accidental finger contact with live parts when the controller is installed inside a control cabinet. Operation is permitted at installation altitudes up to 2000 m. The electronics can also operate at up to 95% relative humidity, provided condensation is prevented. Adequate cabinet clearance should be maintained so that cooling air can pass through the controller without obstruction.
