Product Description:

The 25.R6.SER-900A is a regenerative DC bus unit manufactured by KEB for the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. It connects to a 400 V three-phase supply and returns surplus energy from connected inverters to the mains instead of dissipating it as heat. The module stabilizes the shared DC link and reduces operating losses in elevators, test stands, and centrifugal drive systems that experience frequent braking. A standard heat sink and an IP20 housing support cabinet installation without external cooling hardware.

The drive provides 140 kW of rated active power at a DC bus voltage of 540 VDC. Under these conditions, it can feed 221 A of regenerative current into the network, while normal motoring current on the same link is 270 A. The available headroom accommodates load spikes, allowing motoring power to rise to 210 kW. The power stage can also tolerate an overload current of 331 A for 60 s before protection intervenes. These values apply when the integral heat sink remains below its 88 °C limit. The three input phases allow the unit to draw balanced current and maintain DC bus symmetry during energy recovery.

The unit can return a peak of 230 kVA to the grid, and upstream protection should use a 315 A mains fuse. If a supply surge occurs, an internal gate disconnects the bridge at 840 VDC to protect downstream inverters. Normal switching and semiconductor losses produce only 1300 W of power dissipation, allowing the standard heat sink to maintain rated operation without forced airflow. The unit also provides 153 kVA of rated apparent power and supports 405 A of regenerative DC current for 60 seconds. Its energy recovery capability allows braking power to flow back through the supply connection rather than accumulate as heat within the drive cabinet.
