Product Description:

The 19.R6.S3E-R00A is a line regeneration drive manufactured by KEB for the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. Installed alongside a group of inverter drives, it connects to the shared DC bus and to the plant mains so that kinetic energy produced during motor braking is redirected to the utility grid instead of being dissipated as heat. By converting excess DC voltage into synchronized AC power, the device keeps the bus voltage within safe limits and eliminates the need for large braking resistors in automated conveyor lines, test stands, and servo-based production equipment.

Standing 10.8 in tall and weighing 12.4 lb, the unit fits easily into standard 200 mm deep panels while adding minimal mass to wall-mounted enclosures. During motoring operation, the three-phase input can deliver a rated supply current of 70 A, which corresponds to 48.5 kVA of apparent power and 44.5 kW of real power drawn from the mains. A 90 A line fuse safeguards upstream conductors against faults, and internal losses are limited to 470 W so cabinet ventilation demands remain low. The 5,000 µF DC-bus capacitor stores transient energy and smooths current ripple before it reaches the grid, while the heat sink may rise to 88 °C without derating, supporting continuous service at rated load.

In regeneration mode, the drive pushes energy back to the mains at a 45 kVA rating while delivering a continuous 65 A current. Momentary peaks to 67.5 kVA are tolerated, and overload events up to 97.5 A are allowed for braking surges that last a few seconds. The active power returned can reach 42 kW, helping reduce facility energy use during high-inertia decelerations. Fault tolerance is reinforced by a 10 kA short-circuit rating that matches typical industrial switchgear. Its grid-synchronized control returns braking energy while helping keep DC-bus voltage stable for connected inverters.
