Product Description:

The 19.R6.S3E-900A regenerative power module is produced by KEB within the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. The unit connects to the DC link of an inverter system and directs excess braking energy back to the utility supply instead of dissipating it through resistors. This process reduces heat inside control cabinets and lowers net power consumption in automation lines that perform repeated stops, starts, or speed changes on conveyors, presses, or test stands.

The control electronics are powered by a 24 V rail that can supply 100 mA for external sensors or status LEDs. A separate analog output is limited to 5 mA, allowing the drive to transmit speed or load signals to a recorder without overloading the output stage. Digital command channels have an input impedance of 4.4 kΩ for PNP logic. Each digital output has a sink capacity of 25 mA for driving relays or optocouplers. Internally, the control circuit draws 1 A and operates with a fixed control angle of 22.0 degrees to synchronize regeneration with the line voltage. After a stop, the capacitors discharge within 5 minutes, and the controller attempts up to three error resets before latching a fault.

The insulation monitor trips if the line-to-ground potential exceeds 305 V, so utility wiring must follow local safety codes. Drive-to-drive synchronization is supported, but the link cannot exceed 1 m, which minimizes phase errors between units. Protective earth wiring must use at least 16 mm² copper to conduct fault current safely. The application must also observe a minimum power-off interval of 5 minutes before the module is energized again. Regeneration is blocked when regenerative power falls below the pulse-off threshold of -0.8 kW. For status signaling, a Form C relay can carry up to 2 A DC at a maximum contact voltage of 30 VDC, providing galvanically isolated feedback to the plant controller.
