The 19.R6.S1E-910A is a line-regenerative power module from KEB, supplied under the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. As a bidirectional front end, it returns excess braking energy to the grid instead of dissipating it as heat, improving energy balance in multi-axis automation lines. The unit fits in housing size E and corresponds to mechanical frame size 19, so it occupies a single column inside KEB’s standard cabinets. A standard heat sink provides baseplate cooling, and a precharge option limits inrush current during startup.
The converter accepts a three-phase input from 180 to 528 V AC and synchronizes with utility supplies at 50/60 Hz ±2 Hz. Under nominal conditions, it delivers a rated active power of 42 kW while drawing a supply current of 70 A AC. Apparent power at the motor bus is 45 kVA (26 kVA at 230 V), and the circuitry can regenerate up to 63 kW (34.5 kW at 230 V) during braking events. Thermal management is aided by a maximum heat sink operating limit of 88 °C. Even at full load, internal power dissipation is only 470 W, so cabinet ventilation requirements remain modest. The regenerative path supports a continuous current of 65 A AC, helping keep line-current distortion low while returning energy through the common DC link.
Transient overload capability includes a peak apparent output of 67.5 kVA (39 kVA at 230 V). Incoming protection can be provided by a UL Class J fuse rated at 90 A. During high-inertia deceleration, the DC bus can accept an 80 A DC back-feed, preventing overvoltage trips and allowing the drive system to maintain its commanded ramp profiles. Common applications include conveyors, presses, and test stands that experience frequent energy reversal. In these systems, the bidirectional power path transfers braking energy from the shared DC bus back to the utility supply rather than directing it to a heat-producing resistor.
