The 19.R6.S1E-900A is a line regenerative drive produced by KEB and assigned to the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. As a bidirectional power module, it routes surplus DC-bus energy from connected inverters back to the plant utility supply, lowering heat losses and reducing the need for braking resistors in automated conveyors, hoists, and high-cycle machine tools. This operating method is especially useful in applications with frequent deceleration because recovered energy is returned to the supply instead of being dissipated as heat inside the control cabinet. It also supports systems that alternate regularly between motoring and regenerative states during normal machine operation.
The drive interfaces with a utility supply at 400 V and 50/60 Hz. Under continuous operation, it draws a nominal AC input of 48.5 kVA with a corresponding line current of 70 A. Internally, the rectifier section can accept up to 87 ADC to keep the DC link charged for motoring loads, and the built-in converter stage supplies 80 ADC of regulated current during regeneration without exceeding grid harmonic limits. In normal operation, rated active power returned to the supply is 44.5 kW, while 45 kVA is available at the inverter terminals for downstream drives. All power electronics are housed in a 130 × 290 × 208 mm enclosure, and the unit weighs 5.6 kg for compact cabinet installation where space is limited.
During load peaks, the control logic permits a temporary current rise until the protection threshold of 160 % is reached, at which point the unit disconnects to protect the semiconductors. When braking energy is high, the device can return up to 42 kW to the supply while maintaining grid phase balance through a regenerative rated current of 65 A. Its silicon design supports a transient ceiling of 67.5 kVA, providing short bursts of extra power without immediate derating. This short-term overload capacity helps the drive absorb brief regenerative surges from rapidly decelerating axes without requiring a separate energy dissipation path.
