The 15.R6.N1E-900A is a line-regenerative drive produced by KEB for the R6 Combivert Line Regen Drives series. It operates as an energy-return module that channels surplus DC-bus energy back to the three-phase mains, reducing reliance on braking resistors in conveyors, test stands, and centrifuge applications. The unit belongs to the R6 Regenerative Drive product series and uses the manufacturer’s default configuration. Its 1N.R6 (NCM) control system manages power flow between the DC bus and the incoming supply. A standard heat sink is paired with housing size E and unit size 15 to support installation in common cabinet layouts without forced-air accessories.
This drive accepts a three-phase input at 50/60 Hz ± 2 Hz and operates across a supply voltage range of 180–528 V AC, allowing it to accommodate several common industrial power systems. Under nominal conditions, it returns 17 kW of rated active power, with a reduced rating of 10 kW when operating from a 230 V supply. Its maximum active power reaches 25.5 kW during higher-demand operating periods. The inverter section has a maximum power output of 27 kVA, while the connected DC bus can continuously provide 18 kVA of rated output power or 10.5 kVA at 230 V. During operation, approximately 200 W of power loss is dissipated through the aluminum heat sink fins, limiting heat accumulation inside the cabinet. An internal precharging circuit restricts inrush current while the DC-bus capacitors charge, reducing electrical stress on upstream contactors.
A rated supply current of 26 A AC allows the drive to operate with conventional industrial feeders. The regenerative bridge also conducts 26 A AC of rated regenerative current while delivering a regenerative DC current of 32 A DC to the link. The maximum permitted heat sink temperature is 70 °C, and the control system reduces output when this threshold is reached to protect the power semiconductors. External overcurrent protection is provided by a UL 248 Class J line fuse with a maximum permitted rating of 50 A. Normal panel ventilation must provide sufficient airflow around the heat sink to remove operating losses. Adequate clearance around the aluminum fins helps maintain unobstructed natural airflow without requiring additional cooling fans or filters.
