The 18.P6.H2G-YTXA pitch drive is manufactured by KEB for the P6 Combivert Pitch Drives series. Installed inside the nacelle control cabinet, the unit converts turbine bus power into regulated outputs that position the blade actuators. It belongs to the H2G mechanical housing group. Sensors integrated into the control loop allow the supervisory controller to track motor position and current, helping the rotor blades maintain the desired angle of attack during startup, nominal generation, and high-wind braking.
Its cabinet protection rating is IP20, indicating that the electronic chassis is shielded against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. The externally mounted heat sink is sealed to IP54, so dust accumulation and sprayed water do not compromise thermal dissipation. A nominal supply of 400 V AC is accepted through a three-phase connection, giving the drive direct compatibility with typical turbine auxiliary networks. Electromagnetic interference limits fall under class C2, which is suitable for industrial environments with fixed wiring. For insulation coordination, the power stage is assigned to overvoltage category III, meaning its clearances can withstand grid transients encountered in fixed installations up to 1,000 V. The enclosure also provides space for brake resistors and replaceable fuses.
The dedicated low-voltage brake circuit can deliver 4.2 A at 24 V, while the high-voltage brake path is limited to 0.7 A and activates at 450 V DC. During power-up, a controlled charging stage raises the link voltage to 493 V DC with a maximum current of 5 A, allowing the internal capacitors to energize smoothly. Continuous operation is permitted at sites up to 3,000 m above sea level, although reduced air density may require derating near that limit. The device has a total mass of 16 kg, which facilitates installation in confined nacelle control cabinets.
