Product Description:
The 17.G6.FDE-YM00 is an AC inverter module produced by KEB and supplied under the G6 COMBIVERT I/O Inverters series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency output that allows a motion controller to adjust motor speed and torque. This capability supports controlled operation in automated machinery such as conveyors, pumps, and material-handling axes. Within the COMBIVERT G6 platform, the unit shares mechanical dimensions and a common parameter structure with related drives, which simplifies cabinet layout and system configuration.
The communication port supports EtherCAT, allowing status words and setpoints to travel across a deterministic real-time network without additional gateways. Heat is removed through air cooling, which uses ambient airflow instead of a liquid-cooling circuit. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact with hazardous internal components but no protection against water. This protection level is suitable for installation inside an appropriate control cabinet. The inverter uses housing style E, which establishes its physical dimensions and terminal arrangement for organized panel mounting. A built-in internal filter attenuates conducted electromagnetic interference and can help an installation comply with applicable EN 61800-3 requirements. Dynamic deceleration energy is managed by an integrated braking transistor, allowing a compatible external resistor bank to dissipate regenerative energy when required.
The drive maintains full performance at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level, reducing the need for altitude derating in many industrial locations. Its electronics support ambient operating temperatures from 5 to 40 °C, while operation above this range requires current derating to protect semiconductor components from excessive heat. Certified Safe Torque Off (STO) functionality removes torque-producing power when activated through the dual-channel safety input. This function helps prevent unintended motor torque while the inverter remains connected to its power supply. The fast response of the safety circuit supports use in packaging equipment, textile machinery, material lifts, and other automated systems that require controlled stopping behavior.
