Product Description:
The 15.G6.FDC-YM50 is an AC inverter drive produced by KEB within the G6 Combivert IO Inverters series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency output for induction motors, allowing motor speed and torque to be adjusted without mechanical throttling. In automated cells, the unit links motion axes and process equipment while regulating motor operation according to real-time load demands. This control approach can reduce unnecessary energy consumption in conveyors, pumps, and material-handling systems that operate under changing loads.
The inverter accepts network commands over EtherCAT, so cycle-synchronous data from PLCs can adjust setpoints without analog wiring. For sensorless vector operation, it uses the G6L-M ASCL algorithm, which calculates rotor flux from current feedback and maintains torque during load changes. Heat is removed through forced air cooling, supporting continuous operation while keeping internal components within their operating limits. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, making the drive suitable for installation inside a control cabinet while allowing access to its connections. Harmonic emissions are reduced by a built-in internal filter, which limits electrical interference returned to the supply. Local setup and operating information are available through the front-mounted keyboard and display. Excess regenerative energy is dissipated through an integrated braking transistor, helping prevent DC-bus overvoltage during rapid motor deceleration.
The drive is supplied with housing style C, a rigid frame that shares mounting dimensions with other COMBIVERT G6 units. Functional safety is provided by the dual-channel STO safety circuit, which removes gate power from the output stage for stop category 0 operation. This circuit disables torque-producing output without requiring the mains supply to be disconnected from the entire drive system. The permitted ambient operating temperature ranges from 5 °C to 40 °C, providing a clear thermal range for cabinet installation. Operation does not require altitude derating at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level. The cabinet must provide an unobstructed airflow path around the inverter so its forced cooling system can remove heat effectively.
