The 13.F6.K1D-93MA inverter belongs to the F6 Combivert Inverter Drives series produced by KEB. It converts fixed-frequency line power into a pulse-width-modulated output that matches the torque and speed demands of induction or permanent-magnet motors. Because output frequency and voltage are regulated electronically, the same unit can support smooth acceleration, controlled deceleration, and stable low-speed operation across a range of machine duties. This makes it suitable for conveyors, synchronized rollers, and other coordinated axes that require repeatable motor response under changing loads. In automated cells, the unit acts as a drive axis, interpreting reference values, enforcing safety shutdowns, and activating its braking transistor to dissipate excess energy so conveyor, packaging, and forming machines maintain consistent throughput.
On the control side, the drive offers 3 analog inputs that accept 0–10 V, ±10 V, or 4–20 mA references for speed or torque loops, while 8 digital inputs handle run, jog, preset, and fault-reset signals. Four logic-level status lines are provided as 4 digital outputs, and an isolated contact supplies 1 relay output that can energize a line contactor or mechanical brake. Dynamic stopping capability is implemented through an internal transistor that sinks up to 2 A brake current, preventing DC-link overvoltage during fast deceleration. Two control-word inputs permit 16-bit motion commands from the PLC, two STO inputs disengage the power stage for functional safety, and four virtual inputs can be mapped to application events, minimizing the need for additional wiring.
The communication package supports both fieldbus exchange and local diagnostics. A dedicated 1 CANopen interface supports cyclic process data and node guarding, while a 1 real-time Ethernet interface supplies deterministic communication for EtherCAT networks. Service ports transmit the DIN66019-II diagnostic protocol using 7 data bits, 1 start bit, and 1 stop bit with even parity, allowing parameter blocks to be uploaded over an RS-485 link without disturbing fieldbus traffic. Separate fieldbus and service paths allow parameter access without interrupting networked motion control, and local serial access can be used during setup without changing the active network connection.
