Product Description:
The 12.F6.K12-3A11 is an inverter drive produced by KEB for the F6 Combivert Inverter Drives series. It provides variable-speed control for three-phase motors, supporting coordinated motion, torque regulation, and reduced energy consumption in automated machinery and process lines. Multi-Encoder and CAN interfaces support feedback and fieldbus communication, while EtherCAT provides real-time connectivity with compatible control systems. Safe Torque Off functionality allows the drive to prevent torque generation when a safety stop is requested.
This mounted version accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC mains connection and operates within an input range of 280 to 550 V. At the nominal supply voltage, the DC link is stabilized at 565 V, and an included braking transistor manages regenerated energy from decelerating loads. Nominal operation supports a mains frequency of 50/60 Hz. The IGBT power stage operates at a rated switching frequency of 8 kHz, balancing motor noise with switching losses. The size 2 housing uses air cooling to remove heat from the power electronics. Its IP20 protection rating requires installation inside a suitable cabinet that provides controlled airflow and prevents contact with energized components.
The software current limit permits brief overloads up to 180% of nominal current, while the hardware turns off the power stage when current reaches 216% of nominal current. Safe Torque Off is implemented through a Type 1 safety module, allowing functional safety stops without external contactors. The drive maintains full performance at ambient temperatures from 5 to 40 °C. Operation can extend from -10 °C to 45 °C when the drive is appropriately derated, and the permitted relative humidity range is 5% to 85% without condensation. Continuous duty is permitted at altitudes up to 2000 m, while operation above that elevation requires derating to control thermal stress. The unit may be stored at temperatures as low as -25 °C and transported at temperatures as low as -70 °C.
