Product Description:
The 21.F4.F3R-4R01 inverter is produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed as a frequency converter, it transforms fixed mains power into a variable output that allows control systems to adjust induction motor speed and torque according to process demand. Within automated production lines, the unit serves as the interface between the power network and connected motors, enabling closed-loop regulation without relying on mechanical throttling. This electronic control method can improve process consistency in applications where motor demand changes during operation.
A maximum rated motor power of 45 kW allows the drive to operate medium-power machines such as pumps and extruders while sustaining full torque down to zero speed. The inverter uses field-oriented control, which separates flux and torque vectors so that current commands translate directly into mechanical response. This approach improves motor control accuracy when speed or load conditions change. For plant networking, the optional InterBus interface forwards status words and accepts set points over a single twisted pair, reducing local wiring. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, making live parts inaccessible to fingers while allowing ventilation for heat dissipation. An ambient operating range of -10 to 45 °C permits cabinet installation in many indoor production areas without additional climate-control equipment.
The R-size housing fits standard F4 mounting layouts and leaves room for auxiliary components on nearby DIN rails. The internal power electronics include a filter and braking transistor, reducing the need for separate filtering and dynamic braking components in many applications. The braking transistor provides a connection for managing regenerated energy when a motor decelerates, while the filter helps limit electrical interference. The inverter tolerates relative humidity levels of up to 95% without condensation, allowing operation in humid indoor areas that remain protected from direct spray. Adequate cabinet ventilation is still required to remove generated heat and maintain the permitted operating temperature range during sustained loading.
