Product Description:
The 20.F4.F3R-3440 inverter is produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a three-phase AC drive, it converts fixed-frequency line power into a variable output that allows precise speed and torque regulation of induction or synchronous motors in automated machinery. The unit belongs to the 400 V voltage class commonly used in industrial plants, providing a suitable solution for conveyor lines, process pumps, and material-handling axes that need electronic speed control instead of mechanical throttling.
The inverter draws power from a 400 V supply and requires 83 A of line current under nominal conditions. On the output side, it delivers a continuous motor current of 75 A, corresponding to 52 kVA of apparent power at the rated voltage. When connected to standard four-pole machines, this capacity supports motors up to 37 kW, making the drive suitable for midrange production equipment. Its internal IGBT modulation operates at 8 kHz. A recommended copper conductor cross-sectional area of 35 mm² limits voltage drop and conductor heating when the drive is protected by a 100 A line fuse. Appropriate cable routing and protection help maintain stable power delivery under continuous load.
The inverter’s overcurrent trip activates at 135 A, while short-term overloads up to 112.5 A are tolerated during acceleration. The carrier frequency may be raised to 16 kHz when reduced audible motor noise is more important than the additional switching losses. Climatic suitability follows the 3K3 category, permitting operation in control cabinets where ambient temperature and humidity remain within typical industrial limits. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the unit must be installed in a control cabinet that limits dust exposure and prevents contact with internal electrical components. For electromagnetic compatibility, the inverter supports shielded motor cables up to 50 m long. Maximum relative humidity is limited to 95 percent without condensation, reducing the risk of moisture affecting internal electronics during operation.
