The 18.F4.F1H-4I30 is an AC frequency inverter produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet mounting, it converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable output that meets the operating requirements of an attached motor. By controlling voltage and frequency simultaneously, the unit supports closed-loop speed, torque, and position control for conveyors, mixers, and material-handling axes. Regulated motor operation can also reduce mechanical stress caused by abrupt changes in speed or torque.
The inverter uses field-oriented control, allowing its microprocessor to resolve stator currents into separate flux and torque components for precise vector regulation across the speed range. An internal braking transistor routes excess DC-bus energy to an external resistor during rapid deceleration, helping prevent overvoltage in the intermediate circuit. The inverter uses an H-size housing, which provides space for power modules capable of delivering up to 22 kW of rated motor power without derating under the stated operating conditions. Its enclosure has an IP20 ingress protection rating, providing protection against contact with live components while requiring installation inside a suitable cabinet. A reinforced DC-link circuit handles regenerative peaks commonly produced by lifting equipment and centrifuges. Built-in filters reduce conducted electrical emissions on the incoming supply lines.
The inverter operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 45 °C while maintaining full current capacity throughout that range. It tolerates up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, making it suitable for many climate-controlled production areas and machine rooms. Communication options can be added through a standard fieldbus slot that accepts compatible protocol cards for connection to higher-level controllers. This interface allows the inverter to exchange commands, operating values, and status information with an automation system. Cabinet placement must provide suitable ventilation around the housing so heat can leave the power electronics during continuous operation. The protected panel must also prevent moisture from condensing on internal electrical components.
