The 18.F4.F1H-4I01 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It functions as a scalable AC drive that modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to an induction or synchronous motor, allowing automated speed and torque control in conveyors, extruders, and other continuous-duty machinery on the plant floor. An internal braking transistor is integrated so DC-bus energy can be routed to an external resistor when regenerated power must be dissipated during deceleration. This arrangement supports applications that need controlled acceleration, steady speed regulation, and managed stopping behavior.
The inverter is rated for a nominal apparent power of 35 kVA, drawing a supply line current of 55 A when operated at its designated mains voltage. Its output section can deliver a continuous 50 A to the motor, supporting mechanical loads up to 22 kW. Base switching operations occur at 8 kHz, and the pulse-width-modulated bridge permits carrier frequencies as high as 16 kHz to reduce audible noise and improve current regulation. Thermal design must account for 610 W of power loss that is converted to heat inside the cabinet. Protection on the mains side requires an 80 A fuse, and the control electronics trip on overcurrent at 90 A, while a short-time surge capability of 75 A allows brief overloads during acceleration.
During dynamic stops, the chopper channel can pass up to 63 A through a braking resistor of at least 13 Ω, preventing DC-link overvoltage. The unit carries an IP20 enclosure classification, so it must be mounted in a protected electrical cabinet. Continuous operation is permitted from −10 to +45 °C; above this range, the switching frequency or output current must be derated.
