Product Description:
The 17.F4.C1H-4A02 is an AC frequency inverter from the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series produced by KEB. As part of the COMBIVERT F4 platform, the device converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable-voltage, variable-frequency supply for regulating induction or synchronous motors. It is suitable for conveyors, pumps, and general machinery that require controlled motor speed and torque. Electronic speed control can reduce energy consumption by allowing motor output to follow process demand instead of relying on mechanical throttling.
The unit operates in the Compact control mode, which includes basic vector-control and V/Hz algorithms without requiring optional cards. Its frame uses an H-size housing that fits 90 mm-wide cabinet spaces while leaving room for the required airflow. The inverter supports a maximum rated motor power of 18.5 kW when the DC link and operating conditions remain within the permitted limits. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so the drive must be installed inside a closed electrical cabinet that prevents unintended contact and exposure to contaminants. The normal service temperature ranges from -10 to 45 °C. Operation outside this range requires output derating or additional cooling to keep the power semiconductors within safe temperature limits.
An integrated braking transistor supports dynamic stopping when the drive is connected to a suitable external braking resistor. During deceleration, regenerative energy from the motor can be directed to the resistor and dissipated as heat instead of returning to the incoming supply. The control electronics tolerate up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, allowing use in humid production areas when cabinet airflow or heating prevents moisture from forming on internal components. The COMBIVERT F4 parameter structure uses consistent parameter numbering across the platform’s power classes, making operating values and diagnostic information easier to locate through the control interface. Proper cabinet spacing remains necessary to maintain airflow around the H-size housing and remove heat generated during continuous motor operation.
