Product Description:
The 17.F4.C1H-3440 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into an adjustable output for three-phase motors, giving machine builders speed and torque control without mechanical gear changes or throttling. Designed around the Compact control mode, the unit is intended for installations that need space-efficient drive electronics and full automation performance.
The H-size housing carries an integrated braking transistor and accepts a three-phase supply within the 305 – 500 V range for 400 V-class industrial grids. The inverter supports motor loads up to 18.5 kW, with cabling sized for a 16 mm² line cross-section. It draws 46 A at nominal load and delivers a continuous output current of 42 A, corresponding to 29 kVA at the terminals. The rated carrier frequency is 8 kHz, but the setting can be increased to 16 kHz for applications that require lower audible noise. A Compact fieldbus option marked “Standard” provides basic network connectivity. The mains connection is configured for a three-phase supply, supporting straightforward panel wiring. Protection devices may use a 63 A fuse, while the overcurrent trip activates at 75.6 A. The unit tolerates relative humidity levels up to 95% without condensation.
The operating temperature range extends from -10 °C to 45 °C, and the IP20 enclosure helps prevent fingers and tools from contacting live parts during cabinet installation. Short acceleration demands can be supplied with 63 A for a limited period, while power loss remains at 470 W during continuous operation. The stall current is 13.5 A at a 16 kHz carrier frequency and 30 A at an 8 kHz carrier frequency. The recommended external brake resistor has a resistance of 30 Ω and works with the integrated braking transistor to dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration.
