Product Description:
The 16.F4.F1G-4R05 is an AC frequency inverter produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a COMBIVERT F4 unit, it modulates three-phase mains power so induction motors can be started, stopped, and accelerated under closed-loop speed control in automated machinery. Its control functions support conveyors, pumps, and general motion applications that require precise regulation of motor speed and torque. The inverter provides controlled acceleration and deceleration, helping the connected machine maintain consistent motion as operating demands change.
This model regulates motor flux with field-oriented control, allowing a dynamic response comparable to that of a servo drive while operating standard AC motors. The maximum supported motor power is 15 kW, which indicates the continuous motor capacity that can be connected under the applicable operating conditions. Installation is simplified by the G-size housing, whose frame dimensions support an orderly cabinet layout. The electronics are installed in an IP20 enclosure, which protects against contact with live parts and the entry of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Cabinet ventilation must provide sufficient airflow to remove heat from the inverter during operation. An integrated braking transistor directs excess DC-bus energy to an external braking resistor during rapid deceleration or operation with overhauling loads. This arrangement removes the need for a separate braking chopper module while still requiring an appropriately rated external resistor.
Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from -10 to 45 °C, allowing the inverter to function across the normal temperature range of many industrial production areas. Relative humidity can reach 95 % when moisture remains non-condensing. Condensation must be prevented because moisture on internal electronic components can impair insulation and cause electrical faults. The inverter should therefore be installed in a cabinet that limits direct exposure to water, conductive dust, and excessive airborne contamination. Adequate clearance around the housing is also necessary so cabinet airflow can pass through the required cooling path without obstruction. When installed in humid areas, enclosure design and climate control should keep the internal air above its dew point throughout operation and shutdown periods.
