Product Description:
The 16.F4.CBG-4000 frequency inverter is produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It converts fixed three-phase utility power into a regulated voltage and frequency for induction or synchronous motors used in material handling, pumping, and machine tooling. By modulating output through vector control, the device supplies precise speed and torque without mechanical gear changes, improving cycle consistency and energy efficiency. Cabinet installation is assumed, and the unit integrates with conventional control architectures through configurable terminals and fieldbus expansion cards.
Electrical limits define installation practice. The inverter accepts a line voltage between 305…500 V AC, synchronized to a supply frequency of 50/60 Hz (±2 Hz) across its three phases. Under nominal loading it draws 36.5 A at the input and presents a scalable output voltage from 0 to UN while supplying 33 A of load current. Continuous apparent power reaches 23 kVA, and the synthesized waveform can be programmed from 0…409.58 Hz for high-speed spindles. Enclosure protection is rated IP20; therefore the drive must be mounted in a switchgear cabinet with forced ventilation. A shielded motor cable up to 100 m can be connected using a 10 mm² conductor cross-section.
The short-time and protective ratings govern overload behavior. For acceleration peaks the output stage can deliver 49.5 A for limited periods, while an over-current trip activates at 59.4 A to guard the IGBT bridge. Upstream coordination requires a line fuse of 50 A, and the connected machine motor may be specified up to 15 kW of shaft power. Operation is permitted from −10 to +45 °C without derating, and three-phase symmetry is maintained through balanced modulation, ensuring thermal stability during repetitive start-stop duty cycles in conveyors or mixers.
