KEB manufactures the 16.F4.C3H-4M00 inverter for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation panels, the unit modulates three-phase mains power to provide variable-speed control of asynchronous motors used in conveyors, fans, and pump stations. It uses the H housing style and weighs 14 kg, providing a substantial enclosure for its power electronics and cooling components. The supplied accessory set combines a line filter with a braking transistor, allowing the drive to attenuate conducted electrical noise and manage regenerated energy during rapid motor deceleration.
The power stage operates at a rated carrier frequency of 16 kHz, which is also its maximum switching frequency. Under continuous load, the drive delivers 23 kVA of apparent power and supplies a nominal output current of 33 A. Its nominal input current is 36.5 A when operating from the specified three-phase supply. These continuous ratings support asynchronous motors with output capacities of up to 15 kW while allowing the inverter to regulate motor speed and torque. The apparent-power rating accounts for the complete three-phase output delivered through the motor terminals, including the phase relationship between voltage and current.
For momentary overloads, the inverter can supply a peak short-time current of 49.5 A. The open-style enclosure has an IP20 protection class, which prevents contact with hazardous internal parts by fingers or similarly sized objects but does not provide water protection. Field terminals require a tightening torque of 2.5 Nm to maintain secure conductor connections during vibration and normal machine operation.
