Product Description:
The 16.F4.C1G-3421 is a frequency inverter manufactured by KEB and supplied as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a COMBIVERT F4 unit, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into variable output voltage and frequency. This conversion allows machine controllers to regulate induction motor speed, torque, and direction in automated conveyors, pumps, and material-handling cells.
This model connects to a three-phase supply and accepts line voltages from 305 to 500 V, matching the 400 V-class distribution common in industrial plants. At the output terminals, the drive can deliver 33 A of continuous current, providing a sustained apparent power of 23 kVA for motors that require high magnetizing current. The carrier switching frequency is rated at 4 kHz, which affects motor acoustics and switching losses. A built-in braking transistor discharges regenerated energy into an external resistor during deceleration, helping prevent DC-bus overvoltage. The housing uses the G-size mechanical frame, allowing direct panel installation without auxiliary brackets. Its layout also leaves room for field wiring and option cards within the control cabinet.
The inverter can drive motors rated up to 15 kW, providing capacity for medium-power axes while maintaining moderate cabinet density. Its enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so the unit requires installation inside a filtered control cabinet to limit contact with dust and internal electrical components. Operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from -10 °C to 45 °C. The unit can also operate in atmospheres with up to 95% relative humidity, provided condensation is prevented. For networked motion control, the factory-installed fieldbus slot supports InterBus. This interface allows setpoints and diagnostic data to travel over a single shielded cable, reducing the amount of separate control wiring required for coordinated axes.
