Product Description:
The 16.F4.C1G-2441 is a drive unit in KEB’s F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It converts power from a stabilized DC link into a variable three-phase output so induction or synchronous motors can be speed-regulated in automated process lines. The inverter uses a G-size housing, giving it a narrow footprint for installation inside a control cabinet. Its Compact control mode supports straightforward parameter-based setup without requiring a complex control arrangement. INTERBUS connectivity allows the inverter to exchange commands, operating data, and status information with a higher-level PLC when fieldbus integration is required.
Power is supplied through a dedicated DC bus instead of direct mains wiring, and the permissible input range is 305–500 V. This range suits installations that already provide a rectified DC link for one or more connected drives. The unit is a 400 V class device, so its semiconductor ratings and insulation clearances are suitable for standard 400-volt motor systems. The inverter delivers a continuous apparent output of 23 kVA, providing sufficient capacity for demanding motor loads within its operating range. Its continuous output current is limited to 33 A at the motor terminals. This capacity supports motors rated up to 15 kW when the selected motor and operating conditions remain within the drive’s permitted limits. Carrier modulation operates at 8 kHz, balancing audible motor noise with heat generated by semiconductor switching. A built-in braking transistor controls regenerated energy during deceleration by switching it to a suitable braking resistor.
The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it protects against contact with hazardous internal parts but requires installation inside a closed control cabinet. Reliable operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from -10 to 45 °C, helping prevent excessive thermal stress on the power electronics and control components. The assembly tolerates up to 95% relative humidity when condensation is prevented, making moisture control important in changing ambient conditions. Adequate cabinet ventilation and the required installation clearances should be maintained when several inverters are mounted on the same backplate. The DC supply architecture also permits multiple drives to share a rectified source and a common external braking resistor bank when the system is designed for the combined electrical load.
