Product Description:
The 15.F4.F1G-4I30 is an AC frequency inverter manufactured by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. In machine-tool spindles, conveyors, and similar equipment, it converts fixed mains voltage into a variable voltage and frequency output. This lets field-oriented control loops modulate motor torque and speed with high accuracy.
The protective housing carries an IP20 rating, so the drive must be mounted in a cabinet when installed in areas where dust or accidental contact is possible. Its incremental encoder port accepts feedback signals up to 200 kHz, letting high-resolution encoders close the speed loop without aliasing. The +5 V supply for those sensors can deliver 300 mA, and a separate Uvar source can supply 110 mA; both currents are shared across all connected channels. A fixed 150 Ω terminating resistor is integrated to maintain signal integrity on long cable runs. The inverter relies on IGBT power modules and contains an internal braking transistor that diverts regenerated energy to an external resistor when rapid deceleration is commanded. The housing measures 170 mm across the front panel, conserving panel width in crowded enclosures.
The enclosure depth is 255 mm and the height is 330 mm, dimensions that align with the recommended 7 mm mounting holes for secure fastening. Operation is allowed up to a site altitude of 2000 m without derating, and the drive remains functional in ambient air classified to climatic category 3K3. A maximum ambient relative humidity of 95% RH is tolerated provided condensation is prevented. Overall mass is 10 kg, and the internal components are selected to withstand heat and switching stress typical of high-frequency field-oriented inverters while the built-in IGBT stage coordinates with the braking transistor for controlled energy flow.
