Product Description:
The 15.F4.C1G-4000 is an AC frequency inverter manufactured by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts a fixed-frequency, three-phase supply into a variable-frequency output that allows automation systems to regulate induction motor speed and torque. By electronically adjusting motor flux, the inverter can replace mechanical throttling in conveyors, pumps, and material-handling lines, reducing energy consumption and mechanical wear in continuous-duty equipment. Its variable output also allows connected motors to accelerate and decelerate more smoothly than they would with direct line operation.
The drive uses the Compact control mode, which provides a reduced parameter set containing the essential operating functions. Parameters can be accessed through the keypad or serial connection, simplifying setup for applications that do not require advanced control features. The enclosure uses a G-size frame, so its height and depth align with other KEB modules in the same current class. The inverter supports a maximum motor power of 11 kW at the nominal line voltage. Its IP20 protection rating provides basic protection against finger contact, but an additional enclosure is required in locations exposed to dust or moisture. An integrated braking transistor allows regenerative energy to be directed to a suitable braking resistor without requiring a separate chopper module.
The inverter operates within a temperature range of -10 to 45 °C, and adequate airflow must be maintained around the enclosure as the surrounding temperature approaches the upper limit. The electronics can withstand up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, supporting use in humid process areas when cabinet heaters or other controls prevent moisture buildup. For networked installations, the drive has a Standard fieldbus option that provides the basic serial interface used for start and stop commands, operating references, and diagnostic polling. This connection allows a supervisory controller to exchange operating data with the inverter while retaining local keypad access. Cabinet placement should provide sufficient clearance for cooling air and should prevent conductive contaminants from entering through the open portions of the enclosure.
