The 15.F4.C1E-3420 frequency inverter is manufactured by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It serves as a pulse-width-modulated power stage that lets control systems vary the speed of three-phase motors used in material-handling lines, process equipment, and general factory automation. By translating constant mains energy into a variable output, it enables energy-saving ramp profiles and precise torque regulation without mechanical gear changes.
Incoming power is three-phase at 400 V AC, and the converter draws an input current of 26.5 A under nominal load conditions. That current passes through built-in rectifier and inverter sections; because the model is supplied without an internal filter, any required EMC line filter must be mounted externally. At the output side, it can deliver up to 11 kW of mechanical power while maintaining a continuous output frequency range that reaches 816 Hz, permitting operation of high-speed spindles. Overall apparent power is 17 kVA, and the frame carries an IP20 rating that limits installation to control panels with no direct water exposure. Physical dimensions of 130 × 290 × 200 mm simplify mounting next to other F4 drives.
For continuous duty, the inverter supplies a rated output current of 24 A, and it can momentarily rise to 36 A for 30 seconds to handle acceleration or transient overloads without triggering a trip. Proper thermal behavior is maintained as long as ambient temperature does not exceed 45 °C and relative humidity stays below 95 % without condensation. When idle, the electronics tolerate storage between -25 °C and 70 °C, easing logistics and spare-part stocking. Motor leads can be routed with up to 100 m of shielded cable, so the drive may be cabinet-mounted away from the machine while still meeting noise suppression and voltage-drop limits.
