Product Description:
The 15.F4.081-403A is a drive controller manufactured by KEB and supplied within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Classified by KEB as a COMBIVERT F4 product, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output for closed-loop control of induction motors used in conveyors, mixers, and general-purpose machinery. By inserting this inverter between the plant’s power bus and a motor, integrators obtain electronic speed adjustment without mechanical gear changes. Its cabinet-mount format also keeps sensitive components isolated from the production floor.
At the electrical input, the inverter connects to a three-phase 400 V line and draws a rated input current of 26.5 A under nominal load. The power section supplies 24 A to the motor, providing an apparent output of 17 kVA that corresponds to a maximum motor rating of 11 kW. This performance is maintained across ambient temperatures from -10 °C to 45 °C, allowing continuous operation in standard control rooms. The current and power ratings establish the thermal and electromagnetic limits of the unit, supporting appropriate drive selection for medium-frame motors that require consistent torque throughout their speed range.
Supply conductors up to 6 mm² can be connected to the terminals, and upstream protection is limited to a 35 A mains fuse to guard against short-circuit events. With a housing rated at IP20, the inverter is intended for mounting inside closed panels where finger-safe access and convection airflow are present. The drive can operate in atmospheres with relative humidity up to 95%, provided condensation is avoided. Cabinet placement must allow adequate airflow around the housing, while terminal access must accommodate the permitted conductor size and protective device. Proper panel ventilation helps the inverter remain within its allowable operating temperature range during continuous service.
