Product Description:
The 15.F4.015-403A is a three-phase frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit modulates the supply to an asynchronous or synchronous motor so that speed and torque can be matched to process demands. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output, it allows energy-efficient control of pumps, conveyors, and other machinery that require adaptable motion profiles. This operating method helps the connected motor run at the speed required by the application instead of remaining fixed at line frequency.
It connects to the plant mains through conductors with a maximum cross-section of 6 mm², and it draws a nominal input current of 26.5 A from a three-phase supply. Inside the inverter, the DC link and IGBT bridge provide an output nominal current of 24 A, corresponding to an apparent power rating of 17 kVA at the terminals. When paired with a motor, the drive supports continuous mechanical output up to 11 kW, matching the thermal limits of its power stage. Overcurrent protection is handled upstream with a 35 A mains fuse, and the internal control logic monitors phase symmetry to maintain stable operation across the rated frequency range. This arrangement supports steady motor control during routine speed changes and under varying process loads.
The enclosure carries an IP20 protection class for cabinet mounting and fits the climatic category 3K3, meaning it is suitable for installation areas with elevated temperature and moderate condensation. Relative humidity can reach 95% without causing functional derating, provided no ice forms on active parts. Altitudes up to 2000 m above sea level are allowed before output current reduction is necessary, allowing use in most production plants. The design uses a three-phase topology for balanced loading on the supply transformer. Motor cables may be shielded up to 100 m in length, which helps limit electromagnetic emissions and supports stable operation between the drive and the machine.
