Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 14.F4.S1E-4A11 as a member of its F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The unit is an AC drive intended to regulate motor speed and torque by converting fixed mains power into a variable voltage and frequency output, making it suitable for conveyor, pump, and general motion control tasks inside automated equipment. It integrates directly into control cabinets and supplies field-oriented control for standard squirrel-cage motors used throughout industrial automation.
The drive handles a nominal input current of 18.1 A and supplies a nominal output current of 16.5 A. This output current is also the stall value when the carrier is fixed at the rated 8 kHz switching frequency. Under these conditions, it delivers an apparent power of 11 kVA at the output. Thermal dissipation at nominal load is 240 W and is removed through a finned aluminum heat sink. Power cables must use a 4 mm² conductor, and the supply side is protected by a 25 A mains fuse. Overcurrent protection trips at 36.3 A. For applications demanding finer torque resolution, the carrier can be increased to a maximum of 16 kHz, although this raises switching loss.
During peak deceleration, the integrated brake chopper channels up to 15 A into an external resistor pack. To avoid overloading the component, the resistor value must not fall below 50 Ω, while 85 Ω is recommended for everyday duty. When commanded torque surges beyond continuous limits, the inverter can supply 29.7 A of short-time current before protective timers intervene. The semiconductor junctions are mounted on the same heat sink referenced earlier, and its temperature is restricted to 73 °C. At the motor side, the drive is sized for 7.5 kW asynchronous machines, aligning its electrical capacity with common pump and conveyor motors used in factory automation.
