Product Description:
The 14.F4.F1E-3440 frequency inverter is produced by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet installation, the COMBIVERT F4 platform modulates three-phase supply power to deliver variable speed and torque to induction motors in conveyors, machining centers, and process pumps. By integrating control electronics, a braking transistor, and field-oriented algorithms, the unit enables closed-loop regulation without external motor starters.
This E-size drive accepts a three-phase supply within the 305–500 V range for the 400 V class and supports mains conductors up to 4 mm². A nominal input draw of 18.1 A supports a nominal output current of 16.5 A, providing 11 kVA of continuous apparent power and up to 7.5 kW of rated mechanical motor power. Operation is governed by field-oriented control, so the inverter can regulate flux and torque independently while switching at a carrier frequency of 8 kHz. Standard fieldbus capability simplifies integration with existing controls. The internal braking transistor directs regenerated energy to an appropriate external braking resistor. All electronics are housed in an IP20-rated enclosure that supports panel-mount ventilation practices for the COMBIVERT F4 family.
Protective limits prevent thermal or electrical overloads. Short bursts may reach 29.7 A, while an overcurrent trip activates at 36.3 A; upstream protection is provided by a 25 A mains fuse. Dynamic deceleration supports a maximum braking current of 15 A, provided that the external resistor remains above the minimum resistance of 50 Ω or uses the typical resistance of 85 Ω. The heat sink may reach 73 °C, and power loss at nominal load is 240 W, so adequate airflow is required. The permitted ambient temperature ranges from -10 to 45 °C, with noncondensing humidity up to 95%.
