Product Description:
The 13.F4.S3D-4002 is an AC frequency inverter built by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit converts fixed mains voltage into a variable three-phase output that regulates induction motor speed in pumps, fans, and conveyor lines. KEB integrates the control, power stage, and protection functions into a housing size D frame, allowing compact machine layouts in general industrial automation.
The inverter accepts three-phase supply currents up to 13.2 A and is protected upstream by a 20 A mains fuse. At the output terminals, it delivers 12 A of continuous current, which is sufficient to drive motors rated at 5.5 kW. Carrier modulation can be increased to a maximum switching frequency of 4 kHz, while normal operation uses the 2 kHz rating to balance acoustic noise and semiconductor stress. An integrated brake transistor handles dynamic stopping and channels braking current through external resistors. The minimum allowable resistance is 82 Ω, while a typical resistor value is 110 Ω. An integrated EMI filter limits conducted emissions, and the D-size housing accommodates the filter, control board, and power bus without external add-ons.
The inverter’s power channel is rated for 8.3 kVA, and its thermal design limits power loss to 135 W at nominal load, easing enclosure cooling requirements. Field wiring connects to terminals that require a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm. These terminals accept conductors with a cross-sectional area of up to 2.5 mm². The available conductor capacity supports appropriately sized power wiring while preserving secure electrical contact inside the cabinet. Correct terminal tightening helps prevent loose connections during vibration and repeated operating cycles. The specified power loss should be considered when determining enclosure airflow and available heat dissipation capacity.
